Have you ever been nervous before heading into an important meeting? Maybe it was a big presentation or a tough exam. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could walk in knowing that you are going to nail it, and really feel that winning attitude in your bones?
How many exams didn’t go well because you weren’t in a peak state of mind? How much money have you left on the table because you didn’t bring your inner Super Man/Woman? In this article I’ll walk you through a sure fire method to bring on that “A” game clarity any time, anywhere.
E.A.T is the acronym that I use to summon my inner Super Woman. Just like Clark Kent went into that phone booth and came out Super Man, you can too.
Remember to E.A.T. — 3 Easy Steps
Find your phone booth, and call out that super-hero living within you! No phone booth you say? Then find a private space like a conference room or bathroom, and there you can E.A.T.! (Sounds awkward, I know, but stay with me here.)
Exercise – Cardio exercise floods the brain with chemicals that enhance memory, problem solving and decision making ability. In a small space such as a bathroom or conference room you can get blood moving to your brain by doing something like Runner Arms. Do these by standing in place, creating motion with your arms as if you were sprinting. Start slow at first to get your body used to the exercise, moving them gradually faster until you’re moving them as fast as you can. Do this for 1 to 3 minutes. The exercise will clear your brain of unneeded baggage by lowering cortisol levels to help you think straight.
Affirm — Repeat these words aloud “I own this __________”! Fill in the blank. Negotiation, meeting, presentation… exam. Whatever. Yell it if you can. You own it, and you know it. (Here are a couple others,”I am a unstoppable!”, “I got this!”). Declaring affirmations will help you go into any situation with confidence and a winning attitude. They not only send a powerful message to the universe they also send a message to your subconscious mind. Declare these affirmations for at least a full minute.
Touch — Put your right hand over your heart. Touching your body at the same time you declare your affirmations allows the energy to vibrate throughout the cells of your body, and feel their unique resonance. After you are done, throw a punch in the air. Make it your signature “game on” move and get in the zone!
Be confident, have certainty and train your brain into knowing you’ve got this. Get into your peak state of mind. You won’t be blind-sided and will be prepared for any obstacle that may try to get between you an victory.
Now get in there and be fearless!
